What we collect

When you fill in a form on this website, call us or email us, we collect the details you give us. That normally means your name, phone number, email address, postcode or address, and a description of the work you need. If you send us photos of your property, we keep those too.

When you visit the website, we also collect some technical information: the page you landed on, the page that referred you, and, if you arrived from an online advert, the advert click identifier and campaign details attached to the link. This tells us which adverts bring in enquiries.

How we use it

To contact you about your enquiry and arrange a visit
To inspect your roof, prepare a quote and carry out the work you agree to
To send you invoices and deal with any guarantee claim
To keep records we are required to keep by law, such as accounting records
To measure which of our adverts and web pages lead to enquiries

We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists.

Our lawful basis

We use your details to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, and then to perform that contract. We keep financial records because the law requires it. We measure advert performance on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding which of our marketing works, and where cookies or similar technologies are used for this, we ask for your consent first.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the services that help us run the business: our website host and form provider, the customer management software we use to track enquiries, our phone and email providers, our accountant, and advertising platforms such as Google when we measure advert performance. Each of them handles your information on our instructions. Some of these providers store data outside the UK, and where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

If you make an enquiry but do not go ahead with any work, we keep your details for up to two years in case you come back to us, then delete them. If we carry out work for you, we keep your details and job records for as long as the guarantee on that work runs, and financial records for six years to meet HMRC requirements.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To use any of these rights, email info@apexroofingandgutteringltd.com. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
